Präpositionen sind kleine Wörter wie
in, on, at, to, from, by, with oder about.
Sie stehen meistens vor einem Nomen, Pronomen
oder einer Gerund-Form und zeigen zum Beispiel
Zeit, Ort, Richtung, Herkunft oder Zusammenhang an.
Meist gibt es keine Regel dafür, wann welche Präposition genommen wird.

Präpositionen gehören zu den schwierigsten Themen
der englischen Grammatik, weil man sie oft nicht direkt
aus dem Deutschen übersetzen kann.
Ein deutsches Wort kann im Englischen mehrere Präpositionen haben.
Beispiel mit am:
am Montag 📅 on Monday
am Wochenende 🎉 at the weekend / on the weekend
am Morgen 🐓 in the morning
am Tisch 🍽️ at the table
Eine Präposition verbindet Wörter miteinander
und zeigt, in welcher Beziehung sie stehen.
📖 The book is on the table.
Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch.
🇦🇹 We live in Austria.
Wir leben in Österreich.
⏳ She is waiting for her friend.
Sie wartet auf ihre Freundin.
🏫 He went to school.
Er ging zur Schule.
Präpositionen stehen häufig vor:
Nomen 🏠 in the house
Pronomen 👤 with me
Gerundium 🚶 before going home
Ortsangabe 🚉 at the station

oder wie lange etwas dauert.

Since benutzt du mit einem genauen Startpunkt.
For benutzt du mit einer Zeitdauer.
By oder until? 🤔
Until bedeutet: etwas dauert bis zu einem Zeitpunkt.
By bedeutet: etwas muss spätestens zu einem Zeitpunkt fertig sein.

Präpositionen des Ortes sagen, wo sich etwas befindet.
Auch hier sind in, on und at besonders wichtig.

Into beschreibt die Bewegung in etwas hinein.
